Farmer’s Market and Local Food Cook-off
Monday, April 8th, 11:00 – 3:00
Location: Physicians Promenade
Co-hosted with Dining Services, this Farmers Market will feature both vendors and area farms such as Ambrose, Joseph Fields, and Lowland selling fresh produce. The Permaculture Guild, Lowcountry Local First, and Crop Up will also be on hand to talk about their programs and future plans.
The Sustainability Greek Chairs will be hosting a Local Food Cook-off so stop by for a free sample!

APE Trash Audit

The Alliance for Planet Earth (APE) will be conducting an audit of the contents of the trash at the College. They will be educating students, faculty and staff about the things they throw away.

Join us for our final Greenbag Lunch Series event of the semester: "Sustainability and National Security" featuring a discussion with Colonel Mark "Puck" Mykleby, former advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Marine Corps veteran. Colonel Mykleby will be discussing the transition of national security from foreign enemies to sustainability initiatives.

 Political Science Garden Workday

Location: Political Science Garden (Corner of Wentworth and St. Philip)
A dual partnership between the Office of Sustainability and Green CofC, join us for the Political Science garden workday at the corner of Wentworth and St. Philip (114 Wentworth Street). We will be working to rebuild the garden and plant new crops to be harvested over the next few semesters. One of the few urban agriculture locations on campus, this is a great opportunity to learn how to plant in the Lowcountry!

Renowned speaker and author of Comfortably Unaware,  Dr. Richard Oppenlander will close the campus's Sustainability Week with a keynote presentation on food security in the United States. Dr. Oppenlander will speak after a short reception from 4:30-5. Q&A and discussion will follow his presentation. Refreshments will be served. This event is being held in Towell Library, in front of Randolph in Cistern Yard.
